Torel Palace Lisbon

A marvellous hotel with excellent staff. My girlfriend and I loved the decor and the luxurious furnishings of our room, especially the magnificent afternoon we had at the pool with the view over Lisbon. It was definitely an unforgettable stay and we will certainly return. Thank you so much Torel Palace Lisboa for making our stay in Lisbon an amazing one!

Denied Service Animal (!) after initially confirming it. We stayed at Torel Palace with our small dog before – absolutely no problem and a gorgeous room with great location. But since then, the hotel seems to have changed its pet policy without updating the policy consistently on other booking sites. So, I called the hotel prior to booking a *nonrefundable* rate and they said it would be no problem to bring a pet or a service animal. When I followed up after booking via email, I didn't hear back for 3 months! Eventually, I resent the email and got a response back that Torel does not allow pets. I reminded the hotel that our dog is a service animal, but only got the same response again. Very poor service given this is an expensive 5 Star Hotel. Also, it does not make sense that their new policy only allows animals in the Villa room, which is extremely expensive. Especially, when our dog has stayed with us in a regular room just a year ago and it was no problem for anyone at the hotel.

The hotel seems to be a beautiful old estate that is on a hill overlooking the city; absolutely stunning views. The service is great, wonderful staff. The food was excellent. The rooms are cute; but, at least in the pink building, the wooden floors are not soundproof and we could hear the guests above us. Also, the hotel is located next to the Elevador do Lavra. You are overlooking most of the old city, which is an impressive view; but it can be tiring (if not difficult) to get to the hotel on foot (without taking the funicular).
